H-E-B, the grocery store chain giant, to open new store in Prosper

Prosper, Texas – September brought more than welcoming news for Prosper’s economic landscape, as it was announced that the grocery store chain, H-E-B, is set to establish a store within the town’s boundaries. This news, seen as a pivotal moment for the local economy, has been warmly received by the town’s officials and residents alike. H-E-B will compete with Kroger Prosper for more customers, but also with Target Prosper that will soon launch its store in The Gates of Prosper.

The upcoming H-E-B store will be situated at the southeast corner of Frontier Parkway and the Dallas North Tollway. Covering a vast area of 130,000 square feet, it is more than just a commercial addition to the town. Town officials highlight that this development will lead to the creation of approximately 700 jobs, making it a significant employment generator.

Mary Ann Moon, the executive director of Prosper’s economic development corporation, shared her optimism regarding the new store. “It will be tremendous, and not just for Prosper,” said Moon. She further noted that the store would cater to residents from diverse regions, including north Frisco, east Denton, Celina, and west McKinney.

Delving into the backstory of this promising collaboration, Moon revealed that the initial discussions between H-E-B and Prosper commenced about a year ago. Now, with everything falling into place, the Prosper H-E-B store is set to greet customers by 2025.

Bristol emphasized that H-E-B is just the beginning, hinting that Prosper residents can expect more establishments to grace the town soon.
