Frontier Park to host Prosper community event on October 7

Prosper, Texas – The town of Prosper is set to come alive with the spirit of community and celebration on October 7th. Residents and visitors are gearing up for the much-anticipated community fall event at Frontier Park, which promises a rich blend of music, fun activities, and a sense of togetherness.

Taking place from 5 to 9 p.m. at Frontier Park, located at 1551 Frontier Parkway, the event beckons attendees to indulge in the vibrant ambiance and energy. Those attending are encouraged to bring along a blanket or chair to settle down comfortably for an evening filled with live music. The musical lineup boasts an exciting array of performers. The Halftones will be the headlining act, taking the audience on a nostalgic journey through classic rock tunes from legendary bands like Led Zeppelin, Aerosmith, AC/DC, and Tom Petty, to name a few. Additionally, the Retrophonics, a funk and soul band based out of Fort Worth, and the Turnpike Tributedours, a tribute band celebrating the Turnpike Troubadours, will be gracing the stage. With lawn seating available, it’s the perfect setting to revel in the sounds and rhythm of the evening.

Family fun and community engagement

Beyond the music, the event promises an array of activities tailored for the younger attendees. The Kids Zone will feature a variety of entertainment options, such as inflatables, slides, and sports games. Additional highlights include face painters, a balloon artist, and a photo booth, ensuring memorable moments for families and children.

In a heartwarming gesture, town council members will serve dinner to attendees, providing an opportunity for residents to interact with local officials in a relaxed setting. Moreover, attendees will have the chance to connect with and learn about local nonprofits.

For those planning to attend, it’s essential to note that the parking lot in front of the pavilion near Windmill Playground will be closed from 8 a.m. onwards to facilitate event setups. Event parking will be available in the Prosper ISD stadium parking lot and throughout Frontier Park. ADA parking spaces are available in the PISD Stadium lot and also near the pavilion.

In a special initiative, the town will welcome the Prosper Wonder Squad and Families of Children with Special Needs at 4 p.m., an hour before the official event kickoff. These families will receive perks like a VIP Parking Pass, a coupon for a complimentary snow cone, early access to the Kids Zone, and more. Interested parents can visit the Parks & Recreation Administrative Office in advance to collect their event packets.

Parks and Recreation Director Dan Baker captured the essence of the event perfectly, stating, “The Celebrate Prosper event does exactly that. It’s a celebration of the Town and its people. It’s a free event for our residents to come out and meet some great Prosper nonprofit organizations, eat delicious food, and enjoy some great music in the park.”
